When the Cross Country services to Brighton were withdrawn, the DfT required a passenger service to run over the lines that the XC services used to.
This was filled by Southern for 4 years until it was formally withdrawn in 2012.
One train per day ran in each direction between Wandsworth Road and Kensington Olympia over some of the maze of lines around Clapham Junction.
Driving the return working, running non-stop from Wandsworth Road to Kensington (Olympia).
