The Class 360 was built in three series. These series are: the original 21 for the Greater Anglia franchise built in 2002/2003, then five more in 2004/2005 for Heathrow Airport, and then in 2007/2008 nine for an airport in Bangkok, Thailand.
The original UK sets were four car, but the units built for Heathrow Airport have five carriages. Originally, the Class 360/2 trains were intended to be Class 350 trains which were to be used on spot-hire.
