The Class 314 is a Electric Multiple Unit built by BREL York in 1979.They were the third variety of British Rail's then-standard 1972 design for suburban EMUs, which eventually encompassed 755 vehicles and 5 classes (Class 313/314/315/507/508)

These trains replaced the Class 303 that were currently operated by Strathclyde transport network; That were working on the North Clyde Lines then moved to the Cathcart Circle in 2002.
