Class 166 First Great Western - Plain Blue
By Superalbs
Version 3.1
1/5
These units were constructed in 1992 and 1993 for Network SouthEast, making the Class 165 and Class 166 Diesel Multiple Units the last few trains still built under the nationalised railway.
They are very similar to Class 165 units, particularly the Class 165/1s, as they both share the general body style and top speed. (The Class 165/0s only reach 75mph.)
Class 166s have aircon unlike the Class 165s, but it doesn't work half of the time, so these trains are often very hot. They all have three cars, compared to some Class 165s only have two. Like many other multiple units, every carriage is powered by a diesel engine.
